MILL CREEK OPEN HOUSE

Mark your calendars!

Mill Creek High School will be hosting our first open house of the year.  This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teachers along with the rest of the Mill Creek staff.

WHEN:  Thursday, September 2nd

LOCATION:  MCHS Commons area

TIME:  6:45 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Parents will meet in the commons area to hear general information about Mill Creek and our programs from 6:45 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Then parents will follow their child's schedule to meet with their teachers from 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  These visits will allow teachers to explain their classroom expectations and materials.  Individual conferences about specific information related to your child's performance will need to be scheduled on a different dateContact your child's teacher at any time to set up an appointment.
 

CLASS PICTURES


Photos:

Underclassmen who were absent on picture day (August 12)will have their yearbook / id photos taken during language arts classes on Wednesday, September 8 in room 1.365. Students who do not have a LA class should report to 1.365 before 1st period or during their lunch period.

Senior make-up portraits will be taken after school on Wednesday, September 8 and Thursday, September 16th by appointment only. Sign up for an appointment in room 1.365.  Remember that only portraits taken by Magic Moments Photography can be used in the formal section of the yearbook.  If you plan to graduate in 2011 (May or December) make arrangements to sit for a portrait.  If you have a question about senior portrait fees or options, please call Magic Moment Photography at 770-979-4203.

PSAT

Attention Juniors!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE PSAT WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13 (during school), YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd

Forms are available online (see Attachments below) and in Room 1.542 - Mrs. Hicks
Register August 16th - September 22nd

THE FEE FOR THE PSAT IS $15.00

It is strongly recommended that all JUNIORS planning to attend college take the PSAT!

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are awarded to a select group of students nationwide with exceptionally high scores.

ALL 10th GRADE STUDENTS WILL TAKE THE PSAT

ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2010 (during school)

FEE:  The PSAT is FREE for ALL Sophomores!

All 10th grade students will receive a study guide during their ACT class on Thursday, August 26, 2010.

The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical thinking skills that important for success in college, including critical reading, math problem-solving and writing skills.  Taking the PSAT/NMSQT enables students to get feedback about important academic skills, receive information from colleges, enter scholarship competitions, prepare for the SAT, and access online college and career tools.
