Attention Senior Parents:
I am the senior sponsor in charge of keeping you informed about all the senior activities thought-out the school year. I will be emailing you on a regular basis starting in September. Please make sure that you have updated your email address with the school before August 31st. The schools data base is where I will get the entire senior parent email list. If you have not received an email from me by September 21st, please email at jody_gross@gwinnett.k12.ga.us so that I can add you to the list. Please include student and parent name.
Senior Breakfast: May 18th, 2013 from 9:00am-11:00am at Chateau Elan in Braselton. The Pavillion across from the hotel. Tickets are $30 each and will go on sale starting on March 30th and ending at midnight on April 5th. You can buy the tickets at mymealpayplus.com under Senior Class. Senior Breakfast is only for seniors only, sorry no parents. Senior Breakfast is a special occasion so the dress code is semi-formal which means Sunday dress. No jeans, t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops, tennis shoes, and school dress code applies. Students that are dressed inappropriately will be sent home to and no refund will be given. I am sorry, but we cannot give a refund for any reason.

A letter from Mr. Lane & Class of 2013 Graduation Procedures
Senior Letter information, Graduation Pictures, Video and Banner information is located at the bottom of this page as an attachment.
Senior Letters: Letters are due April 26th by 3pm to the front office. Please follow the instructions which are found as an attachment “Unleashed Memories” on the school website under senior news. No loose letters will be accepted. All teachers and school friend letters will need to be in your sealed envelope. You can email teachers and they can mail them or send them to you by email. Senior Letters will be given out at the senior breakfast. If you do not have your letters ready by April 26th, then you can send them with your senior the morning of the breakfast. If your senior is not going to the breakfast, then you can keep them and give it to your senior any time. If you send the letters into the school and your senior does not attend senior breakfast, then your senior can pick them up before or after school in Ms Berry’s room 1.325.
Senior Week: April 29th – May 3rd. Only seniors who have paid senior dues by April 26th will be able to participate in these activities. I still need bags of individually wrapped candy (any type) and gift cards ($5 for any location). We are up to 17 boxes of candy and about 400 gift cards. Remember, we have 750 seniors and my goal is to have 750 gift cards. If you have not sent in any items please do so ASAP. I need to have them before senior week so that I can get everything organized. If I do not get enough gift cards, then they will be handed out in lottery system as prizes. Thanks to everyone that has sent in items. These items can be dropped off in the front office or delieved to me in room 1.641. Make sure your seniors name is on the items.
Senior Walk: May 3rd at 9am. Only seniors who have paid senior dues by April 26th will be able to participate in this activity. Seniors must bring their cap and gown with them to school to be able to get out of 1st period. Parents can start arriving at 8:30am. I will have a teacher near the front office letting you guys know where you can stand. We asked that you do not stop the line from moving. Take your pictures and make great memories, but the line must continue to progress. When the seniors finish the walk, they will be taking one last photo together in the gym. We ask that you leave the building at that time. The underclassmen have a regular school day and we do not want to disturb them.
Locker strips: These will be handed out in ACT on April 15th. All students have an ACT. If your senior leaves for Grayson or Maxwell, then their ACT teacher is Ms. Alexander in the theater. Joint enrollment students/parents should come by after school on April 15th and pick up the strip in Ms. Berry’s room. Please decorate the locker strip like a memory book page for your senior. Ideas for locker decorations include photos (appropriate baby pictures through senior pictures), college or post- secondary plans, messages, etc. All locker decorations must fit on the strip, and must be attached to the locker with magnetic strips which can be purchased at any hobby shop or Wal-Mart. Do NOT use tape to hang up the locker strip!!! The material put on the locker strips must be School appropriate. It is best if you make copies of your pictures, just in case they are not returned to you the same way that you sent them. The school cannot be responsible for anything taken off your senior’s locker. If your senior does not have a locker, we will have an area on the wall where you can hang them with clear packing tape. Locker strips will be hung by parents on April 26th from 3pm-8pm. The senior sponsors will be in the media center to help assist you in locating seniors’ locker. We will not have combinations, so make sure to get those from your senior if you plan to leave surprises inside the locker.
The Graduation ceremony for the Class of 2013 is Thursday, May 23, at 8:00 P.M., at the Mill Creek Community Stadium on Markham Field. Graduation Practice: Attendance at graduation practice is mandatory for students to participate in the graduation ceremony. Practice is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on May 23 in the Commons.
